At Driftwood Dental, IV sedation is provided by Dr. Kirk Chambers and is available only for selected extraction procedures when clinically appropriate. It is not offered for all dental treatments.
Patients receiving IV sedation are continuously monitored throughout their procedure to ensure their comfort and safety from beginning to end.
Before recommending IV sedation, Dr. Chambers will complete a thorough assessment to determine whether it is the safest and most appropriate option for your treatment.

No. IV sedation is reserved for selected surgical procedures, primarily extractions performed by Dr. Kirk Chambers. Most routine dental procedures do not require IV sedation.
Yes. Patient safety is our highest priority. Before recommending any form of sedation, we carefully review your medical history, medications, and overall health. Patients receiving IV sedation are continuously monitored throughout their procedure.
Oral sedation helps you feel relaxed while remaining awake and able to respond to your dental team.
With IV sedation, you will be in a deeply relaxed state and may remember very little of the procedure afterward. Although many patients feel as though they slept through their treatment, you may remain responsive throughout portions of the procedure.
Yes. Both oral sedation and IV sedation can impair your ability to drive safely. You will need a responsible adult to accompany you to your appointment and drive you home afterward.
